We seem to be living in a state of excessive overabundance regardless of the means to pay the bills. The entire world economy is now in danger of collapse due to insatiability on many levels. The United States is setting the pattern for the world to follow and that beneficial role model status is ill given. We as a nation lead the pack of those that live on credit and pay the money manipulators for the bonds that they impose on us in the form of balance due and obligation of rising interest rates.
Unfortunately there is more to this than financial bondage as demonstrated recently buy the latest ponsi scheme of Bernard Madoff. Many excessive compulsive millionaires were swindled by a con artist that used the alleged victim’s greed as the hypnotic glue. There were many that were surprised that their own lack of judgment led to their demise.
As spiritual aspirants observe this spectacle we should take note of the power of hypnotic suggestion and the result of blind belief. All of the victims of this monetary fraud were in agreement about their trust in Madoff’s ability to invest their money. The pyramid scam was perpetuated by their and their peer’s belief in the dream of excessive wealth being the “good life”. Rampant consumption once experienced is found to cause obesity and enormous debt for the sake of a house and vehicle which are far beyond the size and price of practicality and the common theme of one is not enough.

Re: When does having enough become extreme excessive compulsion?
The easiest way to understand a behaviorism is by studying the extreme instances. This is something which I learned from Richard Rose and have found to be very beneficial. There are many degrees of the same behavior which is why I brought up the billion dollar ponsi scheme which is being labeled the scam of the century.
The same is true regarding any behavior that you may study and often it is found there are unexplainable factors, unless one considers there are unseen forces at work which influence what we observe.
It is very possible that there are living unseen beings or elementals which are evident to us in this dimension. For instance we typically witness bizarre circumstances which are best explained by the possibility of hidden intelligences producing motivation. Transmutable energy is generated for them to feed on. This is an age old theory which Rose taught to his students in is demonstrable I and others have witnessed personally over the years.
